Meet Kerry Pharmer, LCAT

As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with creativity and compassion. Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you reconnect with your inner strength, build resilience, and rediscover a sense of peace and confidence.

Services

Office Collaboration Meeting

Individual Therapy

Depression, Anxiety, relationship struggles, and life transitions can leave us feeling isolated and stuck. Creating a physical representation of current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors will help you bypass the analytical mode of understanding and access the embodied, felt experience of yourself in the world. My expertise is in guiding you through the creative process in a way that helps you  become unstuck from patterns of thought that no longer serve you.

Family Therapy

Family dynamics can feel overwhelming. Creative Arts Based Family therapy can improve communication and help family members  truly see one another’s perspective.

We often hurt the ones we love the most. Coming together in the art therapy studio with Kerry’s guidance and mediation, relationships can shift out of painful patterns and you can reconnect to the love and kindness you wish to feel and express.

Group Sessions

Group therapy sessions provide a safe space to connect with others who share similar challenges.

Specialized groups available periodically include:

  • Body image, self esteem group

  • New/expectant parent group

  • Empty nest group

  • Caregiver group

  • Multigenerational Women's group

Creative arts therapy uses art-making, movement, music, and other creative tools to explore feelings, reduce stress, and support healing. You don’t need any art experience to benefit. For more information visit the American Art Therapy Association website: https://arttherapy.org/about-art-therapy/
Art therapy is an evidenced based effective therapeutic modality for mood disorders, trauma and interpersonal conflict. My expertise as a Licensed creative arts therapist is in helping clients who struggle with depression, anxiety and self esteem issues. I also have experience working with families and couples navigating challenges and transitions in relationships.
Yes. I prefer to meet with clients in person when possible but can accommodate online sessions when necessary.
No! Not at all. Art therapy is about the creative process not about technique or expertise. In an art therapy session the goal is not to create a masterpiece but to play and explore. What results may not be “pretty” or “good”. Engaging in the creative process helps individuals bypass the analytical mode of understanding and access the embodied, felt experience of themselves in the world. My role as a LCAT is to guide clients through this process in a way that helps them become unstuck from patterns of thought and behavior that no longer serve them.
You are responsible for payment at the time of your session. Check, cash, Venmo and credit cards are accepted forms of payment. You will be provided with a receipt for submission to your insurance provider. When filing through insurance a mental health diagnosis may need to be added to your health records. Please check with your health insurance provider for more information about this. Below are helpful questions to ask to find out the details of your coverage: 1. Do I have out-of-network coverage for mental health psychotherapy services? 2. Do I need a mental health diagnosis to be eligible for coverage? 3. Does my insurance cover treatment by a LCAT license (Licensed Creative Arts Therapist)? 4. If yes, how many sessions are covered per calendar year? 5. What is my out-of-pocket payment before my deductible is met? 6. What percentage of the fee for each visit will be covered? 7. If using telehealth ask your provider if they cover telehealth.
